1st place

"Paulownia Tree" by Jingshu Zhu.

Judge's comment
This is a very touching image, presenting a warm and welcome atmosphere of the forest scenery. The light shedding from left side provides perfect multiple layers through out the entire field and illustrates a gradual transition from warm to cool colors. The photographer also revealed an interesting orderly nature from these tree trunks and branches patterns.

2nd place

"Hide and seek" by Marat Akhmetvaleev.

Judge's comment
This image illustrates a surreal beauty of the forest shedding with soft light,  which is nicely filtered by misty fog. These tree trunks from near to far display a perfect depth of field, making one feel like walking through this forest. The overall golden tonality of this image is also impressive and perfectly matches such autumn scenery.

3rd place

"Visible Invisibility" by Jiri Stekl.

Judge's comment
As the title suggested, we "see" through something that is almost invisible. This image perfectly illustrates a fine boundary between visible and invisible in such a beautiful scenery. From this image, one can see the transition of light from the sky to the ground, which gives a nice depth of field in this simple composition.
