What a piece of work is man…
I will tell you why.
I have of late, lost all my mirth, and it goes so heavily with my disposition, that this good earth seems to me a sterile promontory.
This most excellent canopy, this air, this brave firmament, this majestical roof, when spread with golden fire... why, it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours.
What a piece of work is a man...
How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty. In form and moving, how express and admirable.
In action how like an Angel, in apprehension how like a God.
The beauty of the world, the paragon of animals.
And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me. No, nor Woman neither.

Fighting, suffering and mourning.....during my travels I visited several war memorials/cemeteries in France, Luxemburg, Slovakia or even in Germany and also in Singapore and Malaysia, places where someone can be thinking and crying about war heroes and victims.

 | Gabriela Pantu PRO I recently saw old registers of civil status in which a person's existence is reduced to 3 elements - name, date of birth, date of death. I thought - what a cold coding of lives full of events and emotions, what an unfair reduction of personal histories, basically 'codes' from which other 'codes' are born.
Maybe that's why, putting things in perspective, such a collection of images that evoke the force of life, existential hypotheses with a strong impact, of the nature of activating the consciousness of important milestones, gives more meaning to the thread of life, that has only two arithmetic expressions in the registers.Brilliant gallery.Thank you Peter and Yvette! <3 |
